Automotive trademarks are the property of the trademark holder, authorization may be needed for some uses. --- Information: Land Rover Big Lightweight, Registration No. VXC 100F, Chassis No. 110-1, 3.0 6-cylinder Petrol engine, 5-speed gearbox, 9.00 tyres. This unusual prototype was one of three built a by Rover as an air portable gun tractor. It was also designed to tow a power driven trailer with the 105mm field gun behind that. It is called the Big Lightweight because of its oversized dimensions and the similarities to the normal Lightweight which was under development at the same time in the 1960's - as well as the 101 Forward Control. The 101 Forward Control won that contract, so this prototype never went into production.
