Vehicle History: This is one of 33 Series 1 Land Rover 80 inch wheelbase vehicles that were converted to Rolls Royce engines in 1949. The cats were converted by Hudson Motors in London. To allow the engine to fit the springs were upgraded, and transfer box, front panel, floor, exhaust, gauges and many more bits modified. The rear axle was moved back by 1 inch, making them known as the 81in Land Rovers. After trials the project was dropped. This vehicle was one of two converted after trials to a parade vehicle. It has been at the Beverly Museum until 2006 then passed over to the R.E.M.E. Corps Museum.
